We listen, act, and transform
Michelle King
Clinical Social Worker/Therapist
LCSW, CAADC
I am a clinical social worker in both states of Georgia and Vermont. I work from a positive psychotherapy framework. Therapy is in pursuit of change, an active pursuit and not a passive one. So we will work together during sessions. My goal is for you to leave the session having an understanding, a clear mind, and a plan. I am a positive psychotherapist who approaches treatment with kindness, compassion, and no judgment. My strength is bringing forth your strengths by utilizing Solution Focused Psychotherapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Compassion-Focused, and Emotionally Focused Therapy. My desire is to help.
I thrive working with survivors. I love working together towards a whole and fulfilling life through learning from the past, learning about the ins and outs of the human brain, and implementing new skills. These survivors may be experiencing shame, guilt, present sadness, depression, anxiety, feeling as if they are not enough, or maybe asking, "Who Am I."
I am a kind and compassionate person. I bring this into the session with me. I appreciate a good laugh and am not stuffy. I enjoy conversation-style sessions.
My therapy journey is about my childhood trauma and a lifetime of working toward personal growth. I entered college at 40 for the first time. MOTO: Choosing to make a difference
My goals are for you to know what you want, learn what you wish to, communicate effectively, be kind and compassionate towards yourself, be understanding, and have elevated moods.
My first session with you During our first session together, I would love to hear all that you wanted me to know about you at that time. The first sessions are no different than other sessions, except we are just getting to know each other.
